Any unbiased opinions about his performance so far?

He's looked good for a player that's just coming back from a knee injury that kept him out for six months. Getting stuck in well when the ball's near, being a bit lazy tracking back. Trying to thread through balls a lot. Nice touches here and there. I'll stick with the bit about being injuried for 6 months as the gist of what I'm trying to get across.

Thanks for the info :)

Good summary.

A lot of the usual frustrations but some really nice touches.

I was most pleased to see he covered a hell of a lot of ground in the hour he was on the pitch. Worked hard IMO.

Good news. The main thing we need from him is fitness at the moment.

Thought it showed that he hadn't played for so long. Understandable, but there were some encouraging signs. He's still not shying away from challenges, despite the lay offs he's had already in his short career.

That, too, would've been understandable.

Usain Bolt wouldn't have even liked the bolded bit last night.

Only joking, he was alright. : )

Hit me up with a stream Udik.

Bahaha. Didn't see this till now - karma!

Yeah plenty weren't coming off, but I love the way he keeps plugging away with them. If he ever works out how to find a balance between keeping possession and trying to pull them off, THEN Hernandez will be loving them. His vision is brilliant, though. It was a very good hour from him, all things considered.

We really missed Anderson against Fulham, IMO. I think one of our biggest shortcomings in the game was our lack of pace in the centre of the park.

Should be the first CL match against rangers, by then he'd have trained with the 1st team for almost a month, also he'd probably have a few reserve games up his belt.

Its up to the manager really, we dont' really need him to quickly stamp his authority as Scholes and Fletch have been awesome.

He will be involved against everton

not a good idea. Everton away is a tough game when you've been out so long. Scholes and Fletcher to start, if we are up a goal or two bring on Carrick and try to keep a clean sheet. Start Ando against Rangers. They are a far easier prospect (at home too).

Heard he picked up another injury tonight. Anyone have an idea whether it was in any way serious?

naaah, he should be right.

Back sitting on the bench, so it's probably a minor knock. Though, I gotta admit, for a minute, I was worried.

looked fine on the bench
didnt expect him to play the entire match anyway

went off a few minutes after he got a slight knock .. dont think there was any connection tho

Could Anderson be the biggest benefactor from Valencia's injury? I'd certainly like to see him given a few games operating from the left hand side of midfield. Not playing as a traditional winger but similar to how Park plays it for us, coming infield to get involved in the build up.

Anderson would generally struggle to get games for us in a 442 so maybe this will be really good for him.

Anderson has struggled when we've stuck him on the left. It's clear to me that he's going to have a future in the middle of the park, so that's where we need to develop the lad. The way the squad is looking, he's definitely got an opportunity this season. I'm praying for a Nani-esque transformation. He's got it in him.

It wouldnt actually be a wide left position though. It would be like how Park plays it for us. How Modric plays it for Spurs etc. He would just be required to fill in on the left when defending.

He and us didn't play that well whenever he plays there. It's in the middle where he can make an impact.

He's only ever played there on a handful of occasions so I don't see how you can make that judgement.

Also, in the game against West Ham when he got injured, he started from the inside left position and was doing really well.

I think the issue is whether he can play there regularly though Chief. He's played there before - hell he was on the left the night he did his cruciate.
I don't see why he can't. He can beat his man, has a good cross and is a creative player. Right now he can develop into anything. The only thing missing from his game is consistency.

Amen for that!

Ando have the pace and strenght to play like Özil (who is a modern copy of Matthäus). I hope he will use this advantage more often when he's coming back.

That's 1 hell of a compliment.

Ozil has got a hell of a long way to go to match Matthaus. Also, Matthaus was more of a complete football player.

Whoever plays on the left cuts in with evra overlapping so much. Would work well for ando.

Agree! But Özil is still very young. I hope that we use Ando like Mou and Loew use Özil.

Doesnt score enough, doesnt have the most intelligent movement and doesnt have the consistancy of passing needed to play the role.

Right now he's more Essien than Ozil

Agree. I don't see Anderson being good enough to play in that role.
