I've been waiting for this game for days, the boys will do us proud. Let's just hope that's enough to get through!

I'm happy with that team. I do have a concern with Fletcher starting, though with Giggs and Cleverley as the alternatives it makes sense.

Saw Rio at the memorial yesterday and he seemed alright innit.

Always post this befre big games so had to login and put this up.

C'mon Reds

If that leaked lineup is correct ... we're doomed. Not because I don't agree with the choices ... because I do! I think I've been wrong about every lineup this year. Ha. COME ON YOU REDS.

Need a big game out of Fletch today.

He'l be vital yes but tbh, regardless of how he plays, we arent getting anything in midfield, its how well he does purely defensively that'l be vital. Our 4 defenders and De Gea will be the ones that win this for us if we do.

Jesus I'm so excited..

To be expected, if United go out, everyone will say that the best team in the world did its job and United fought valiantly (especially if the loss is a narrow one) If they go through on the other hand, the celebrations will be never ending and Moyes will be elevated into hero status, clinching his place in the pantheon of United legends :D

I think many of us chose the same lineup that Moyes chose against Pool and we were all proven wrong.

We need to score too, don't forget. I hope we make use of the freekicks/corners

Thiago, Martinez and Bastian out.

I don't care what people say about Bayern's strength in depth, but those are their best CM players by a very long shot. Who can even remotely replace them? United with a chance here...

Yes but first and foremost, we need to be solid at the back. Our best chance of scoring will again be from set pieces imo.

No-one from the Mirror is even allowed in the stadium tonight. Bayern banned them all.

I feel sick already. Can't remember ever being so scared by a match... desperately trying to bury the annoying optimistic part of my mind that keeps trying to get my hopes up.

Why're you scared? We have everything to win , nothing to lose. Excited, yes. Scared?

Just stocked up the fridge with Moretti's...

It's a weird feeling though. I'm bang up for this, but it's not the usual Champions league nerves. It feels like we're freerolling it as everyone expects us to get smashed.

Kroos is better than all 3 IMO.

This could be the lineup

-------------De Gea---------------
Jones------Smalling-----Vidic-----Evra

----Carrick-----Fletcher

Valencia-----Kagawa-----Welbeck

-------------Rooney-----------

Because if we lose our season ends tonight, and it ends with pretty much no redeeming features. And I'm pretty sure we're going to get handed or arses on a plate, possibly with some sausage and sauerkraut.
Last week's draw seems to have got people's hopes up far too much. I'm pretty sure that match will prove to be add good as it gets.

I am dead sure we will get rammed tonight but that did not stop be from believing during the first leg. Hoping for the best, prepared for the worst!

Agreed. An early goal for us and we're in serious business. Like our chances.

If any of our players really has leaked the actual line-up to some tabloid hack I hope they never play for the club again.

The biggest game of the season (and of Moyes' United career to date) and we're giving the opposition manager an advantage before a ball has even been kicked. Infuriating.

Was it not rumoured to be Rio who was leaking the line-up? Maybe he's upset he isn't playing so he leaked it?

Naah, either ways, it'l be a close result. I dont expect to get our asses whipped. But yeah, I have no clue what this confidence is based on . I expected us to be thrashed in the 1st leg.

I would guess:

DDG

Jones Smalling Vidic Evra

Fletcher Carrick Kagawa

Valencia Rooney Welbeck

Which looks pretty alright to me.

If we can keep Robben as quiet as the first game I also like our chances. They looked devoid of ideas at times in the first leg but at home is a different proposition obviously.

Martinez does not even play in midfield for them this season. Dante is replacing his role in this game.

OFFICIAL MANCHESTER UNITED XI

#mufc XI: De Gea; Jones, Smalling, Vidic, Evra; Fletcher, Carrick; Valencia, Rooney, Kagawa; Welbeck

I do hope it's Jones RB. Apart from that, looks decent. Still don't think we'll do it but at least he picked the right team.

If the 1st leg is anything to go by then it'll be Welbeck, not Rooney, leading the line so we'll probably see Rooney starting behind Welbeck with Kagawa starting out wide. Not that it really matters. For the most part we'll have 10 men behind the ball and then on the few occasions we have the ball its just about Rooney, Valencia and Kagawa giving Danny as much support as possible.

#mufc subs: Lindegaard, Büttner, Ferdinand, Giggs, Januzaj, Young, Hernandez

No Nani
