Bolton Wanderers v Manchester United

Where did this story about De Gea being dropped come from? At his press conference yesterday Sir Alex said he didn't forsee any changes and he actually put pressure on the referee to protect De Gea by highlighting what West Brom had got away with: BBC Sport - Sir Alex Ferguson wants more protection for David de Gea Why would he do that if he wasn't going to play him?

Nowhere. Basically a few "experts" reckong Lindegaard will play. Some even claim to know what Fergie is thinking!

It's quite remarkable.

Just read that Lindegaard was asked when he will debut, and he answered, "Sooner than you might think" or something like that which seems to have gotten this rolling.

But I would think it would point more towards him playing against Benfica.

He would have every right to have said that considering he has already made his first team debut for United. Would have been alot sooner that those asking the question had thought.

I can't see Lindegaard getting a game until the Carling Cup starts, personally.

I hope SAF sticks with De Gea, It's going to be a strange season for him but he will be a quality keeper in the future. No way he should be dropped for the CL either. I am predicting a hard earned 2-1 win today. Rooney and Anderson to score.

"Anders, when are you starting?"
"Sooner than you might think"

Journalists

Well... I still think he'll start his first game this season at Elland Road.

I hope Rio comes in for Evans. Bolton away = lots of high balls and Evans has been poor dealing with headers.

i agree

the way we've held onto the ball, domintated possession and controlled games makes me think we'll be fine though (barring any defensive feck ups)

Will be interesting to see how well we're able to do it in this game. Arsenal always give you a bit of time and space on the ball and Spurs were in a bit of a mess. Bolton will put in a proper shift. A tougher version of the test West Brom put us through.

chelsea and city both currently leading 1-0, all the more we have to win as well.

Come on Evra, try not to screw up at the back today. It's going to be a real test for our back four. Not an easy place to go to!

Yeah, the brilliant Daniel Taylor if you can believe that...with his front page article about De Gea is basing it all on that, even though he quotes SAF saying De Gea needs protection against Bolton.

I hate that guy, I never click his articles but that one wasn't labeled.

Benfica is a big ask, that's our toughest group game, you may well be right.

Ferdinand in for Smalling with Jones at RB...for some reason. Possibly due to Smalling playing 180 minutes for England but after Fergie mentioning height it's a strange one.

Confirmed Lineup:

De Gea, Jones, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Nani, Anderson, Cleverley, Young, Rooney, Hernandez

Lindegaard, Berbatov, Giggs, Smalling, Park, Carrick, Fabio
