Celtic Appoint Ronny Deila As New Manager

It'd be absolutely ridiculous but pretty hilarious at the same time.

Yeah, some things are out of bounds. Mocking an outstanding organization such as UEFA? Not proper.

cnuts they are. As I've said, I hope everytime a player discusses with referee the club is kicked out of competition. Rules are rules and I sincerely hope United are thrown out of Premier League too, I saw Rooney discussing with ref the other game.

I don't support UEFA, just getting annoyed by Legia.

Are you mad everytime players discuss with referees or a manager criticises referee after the game? Do you think United should be stripped of all trophies they won under Ferguson because they constantly complained about referees?

What does all this have to do with Legia making an amateur error and then childishly whining to Celtic and UEFA this whole time?!

Well, they don't agree with UEFA's stance on this - in fact I'd say that most people don't given the general outrage this decision caused (and from what I've seen it's one of the very few forums where people actually think it was fair and just to hand a walkover to Celtic, I looked at Liverpool/City/Arsenal forums and they mostly think it was ridiculous) and think UEFA went over the top with their punishment (and yes, they did have a choice). You want them kicked out of the competition yet again because their fans have voiced their opinion during the game with a transparent.

If this is your take on this (you hope they're kicked out) then you should also want every single team whose players complain about referee's decisions to be kicked out as well because it's basically the same offence.

I assume you think communism is the best political system too.

I think Legia are coming across as classless twats but what is more deeply worrying is the ease with which the Bhoys are getting beaten by mediocre teams. It's going to be a long, not very satisfying season it seems.

From what I've seen, most football fans are behind Legia in this. The joy people got from Celtic losing against Maribor was quite funny. Celtic for doing nothing wrong have suddenly had their reputation tarnished.

They could have refused UEFA or taken Legia up on their offer for a rematch, etc.

For the money that is at stake nowadays, it'd be financial suicide to try and do the moral thing and have a rematch.

The way I see it, Legia messed up, Celtic got lucky and that's just the way it is.

Well they've gained absolutely nothing financially in the end.

Do you reckon Legia would've given Celtic a rematch or refused the place if it was the other way round?

They're a public company- they have a fiduciary duty to their shareholders and would've certainly been sued had they done what you're proposing.

They'd have done feck all I think. Celtic did nothing wrong there to be fair, well they could have answered Legia or not lobby for the walkover but 90% teams would have done the same in their position so I don't hold any particular grudge for accepting the walkover although it leaves a bitter taste and I dislike Celtic after this. It doesn't help their cause here that it has generally been reported in Poland that they not only refused to co-operate but also threatened to sue UEFA if they hadn't been given walkover although I don't believe that for a second, no one is that cnutish. I'm still happy to see Celtic out of CL because they didn't deserve to be there, I probably had more of a problem with Celtic advancing than Legia being out of the competition - had they been simply kicked out and Celtic remained in Europa with Maribor or someone else being given a bye to the CL group stages I'd have felt better back then I think. It's done now, Legia are in EL as are Celtic.

Legia talking about how they wouldn't accept a walkover in Celtic's place is poor IMO. They're not a PLC, they are owned by their chairman and his colleague, they can do whatever they want and no one will held them responsible so even if that's true same could not be expected of Celtic who care about profit first and foremost.

Does it matter what legia would have done? You cant say that they are not to blame at all, its poor sportsmanship. Which is why a lot of people are laughing at them getting knocked out.

If there's one team who could survive the financial hit of no CL, it'd be Celtic. They're in a one-team league. Perhaps I'm being hopelessly romantic but I think they would've gained far more from a rematch. In this era of footballing greed, they'd have gone down in footballing folklore instead of the embarrassment of sliming through and crashing at the next hurdle.

Celtic were given a 3-0 win as per UEFA's rules and went through on the away goals rule. Had Legia won the first leg 5-1 they would have gone through.

There's no unfairness here at all. Legia were punished as per the rules, the same as any other team would have been and no amount of whining can hide that fact.

If anything, I think Legia should be punished for their tweets after the game on Wednesday

Celtic didn't "slime through", it was a matter that had absolutely nothing to do with them and was purely between Legia and UEFA. Legia kicking and screaming like a spoilt child doesn't hide the fact that they messed up and were punished in accordance with the rule UEFA had in place. Were UEFA just supposed to ignore their own rules?

Celtics board are terrible at spending money. They refuse to spend for ages, harming their champions league chances and then once their out, spend £2 million on a striker.

After Celtic lost they tweeted that "Football won".

And they were right with that tweet. Putting aside all their crying for rematch and all that, it would've been idiotic if a team that got trashed and couldn't beat their opponents in 3rd round would win in 4th round and thus got into group stages. Maribor, unlike Celtic, has beaten their opponents in a game of football, and thus, football won.

It's not Celtic's fault Legia blundered their way out of the competition so it's odd for a club to gloat like that. Why even comment at all?

Have a go a UEFA if they disagree with the rules, have a go at whatever moron make the mistake that cost them countless millions but it's not Celtic's fault.

 humped 6-1 still in Europe, beaten by Maribor still in Europe.................. embarrassing.

Humped by teams like Legia and Maribor yet will still finish ahead of Aberdeen by about 20 points. That's embarrassing ;)

Not embarrassing at all, the difference between the clubs is obvious.
Also my embarrassment comment was aimed at UEFA, sensitive bunch The Mighty Selic supporters.

Deila strikes out against the player culture in Celtic before their Europa league match vs Dinamo Zagreb!

TL;DR: Deila wants more proffesionalism in the player group and says that if they (Celcit players) are not ready for his new ideas and philosophy he might as well just step down and go back to Norway. He implies that the players are not fit enaugh and brings fort Murray as an example of an athlete who goes the extra mile and he wants to see the same in his players. (This is roughly summarised).

So what do you all think? Does he has a point, that the players are not willing to walk the extra mile to become "best", or is he asking too much and his philosophy is simply not right or too flawed/average?

He might not be the manager they want or deserve, but until they stop eating chips for breakfest he is the one they need.

But this is Scotland mate. Kebabs and beer are the cornerstone of any post-match recovery programme.

Hookers and grannys are all over england as well, but the professionalism there is way high...errr.
It's a joke, don't shoot.

I told you all they wouldn't win the league this season, or at least would find it incredibly hard....

Beaten again, 1-0 at home today....

I'll accept your apologies now :D
