Expect Muriel or Izquierdo to come on and stretch the play in the 2nd half. Colombia have been very negative so far.
They are looking to play the long game which is why England need to score soon to get Colombia to come out. Colombia can definitely play better than this.

We’ve created nothing, for all the comfortable passing at the back, absolutely nothing.

People remarked on it after Tunisia that Kane hadn’t really had many chances in open play.

Colombia have had all the shots and fecked them up.

Plus when they counter we only have Henderson in midfield so when he gets hypassed we’re reliant on the 3 at the back.

And Colombia are shithouses who know hpw to be niggly and game the ref, we have nobody of that nature. Sterling is being picked on.

Alli is injured yet I bet he stays on and for far too long like against Tunisia.

Unless we score from a set piece, which currently looks unlikely cause they’ve been wank tonight, it’s going to ET and then pens and we’ll lose on pens.

Unless one of the likes of Quintero capitalises on the fact that they’ve been winning the second balls after headers/clearances from our defenders.

Colombia should definitely be down to 10 men. Barrios should’ve been sent off through VAR.

Rashford needs to come on and start shooting along with Kane. The approach play is nice but very little threat.

Why on earth was loftus-cheek dropped he’s been playing really well, no words for sterling

Rashford or vardy for sterling

RLC for Alli

Sterling is not good enough to start for England and is too light weight. Delli Alli gives nothing at all to this team.
Who said it wasnt a penalty, the colombia player clearly nutted henderson, should go to spec savers.
There should also have been more yellows for colombie, that would stop their dirty play.

He's defensively sound but tactically England suffer in attacking build up with Young. I'd sub him off and generate pace with balance.

Sorry mate but I disagree. Our pace in Lingard and Sterling hasn’t delivered so far, mainly Sterling as Lingard has worked very hard again as usual. Still hope and think England will win this though.

Not overboard? C'mon man, that touch did not warrant falling over whatsoever. He even held his face which never got touched. Complete overreaction.
If he hadn't fallen over, the referee would never have even known it happened. It was either that or start fighting him, risking himself also getting a red or at least a yellow.

Bringing attention to actual fouls is fine as far as I'm concerned, even if it takes a small amount of embellishment. The problem is ridiculously overselling small contact and pretending to have a serious injury (see Neymar) or pretending for a foul when there wasn't any contact. When you've just been headbutt for no reason, going down is fine as long as you don't start rolling around screaming.

The ball was not in play, that's why it's not a penalty

You don't see Alli at club level much do you? It's not a red card and that wasn't violent conduct, it was petulant. The hugging and grappling are from both sides in the box, always has and always been. Then Stones pushes the Colombian in front of the ref, foul for Colombia. That was stupid as well.
Another strawman. So now it isnt the commentators praising it, it's whether Alli fouls or not. Where shall we go next?

Not violent conduct? He's used his head to butt another player. What the feck do you call it then? A meaty challenge?

No intentional head butt under the chin isn't a red. Its one of the most dangerous places to hit someone because the brain can rock back in the skull causing concussion.

Are you embarrassed to be English? What with Henderson getting a head to the chest and going down clutching his forehead?
What are you talking about? The player headbutted Henderson in his chest then moved his head up and hit him right in his jaw. Clear red card.

Colombian defender should have been sent off.

Colombias plan of being thugs and hoping for something out of nothing is a bit of a stretch.

Clattenburg sounds nothing like what I imagined.

As long as you can get away with things, everything is fair game in the pursuit of winning, according to some.

According to every actual winner.

We need to stop heing polite and naive and start being shithouses

If you give the red card for the headbutt then you have to deal with Henderson too for the play acting. A yellow is sensible, a red card each would be the perfect rule.

I mean with Rose and Trippier providing the width and pace. I don't think Rose is anything special and he's lacking match fitness. But that lack of a left wing can be fixed with one sub. It reminds me too much of watching United. And then I start worrying that we won't buy a left back.

They’re showing this Maguire challenge with Cuadrado on ITV as if it’s evidence of Colombia being really agressive. All I can see is Maguire being a dick.

Let's hope England pummel them in the 2nd. Columbia really was a disgrace in the first half. If they make it through the game without a sending off the ref probably didn't do his job. Rashford strength and height seems like it would be far more useful than Sterling s running into a forest of men looking to give him lots of hugs.

True but no one would blame him given the effect of VAR on players tbh.

I think it's a yellow personally. Yeah contact with the chin but no way near anything as mental as it sounds.

Also the coach is a bit stupid for doing that to sterling but again it's just a bit meh.

He intentionally headbutted him. That's about as red card as it gets.
