Liverpool fan arrested after Oldham player abused in new Anfield race row
By SPORTSMAIL REPORTER
6th January 2012
Liverpool are once again at the centre of a damaging race row after a fan was arrested for allegedly racially abusing Oldham's Tom Adeyemi during the FA Cup clash at Anfield.
Adeyemi was visibly rocked by the abuse directed at him from the Kop and had to be calmed down by referee Neil Swarbrick and Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and some of his own players.
Eye witnesses overheard one Liverpool supporter shout: 'You f****** black b******' towards the end of the 5-1 victory for the hosts.
feck me, what has happened up there?
Liverpool statement:
Liverpool announced that no arrests had been made but confirmed in a statement they are investigating the incident with the Merseyside police.
The statement read: "An incident occurred in the second half of the match which is now being investigated by both the club and the police.
"We will continue to work closely with the police and establish the details of what actually happened and will make a further statement in due course."
A senior Liverpool official also told The Guardian: "We will do everything in our power to investigate the matter and ensure the appropriate action is taken."

So Klanfield now behaving in the fashion to what KKK Dalglish has unleashed. Or maybe its just cultural relevance ... thats just banter on merseyside .... didn't ya know?
Kenny Dalglish can't be blamed for the ignorance and idiocy of some Liverpool fans.
FFS This is worse than the five year old Evra story, some corners of the press are acting worse than Liverpool IMO.
Ofcourse he can. They've fueled the flame for the last few weeks with this whole issue. Not to mention those ridiculous T-shirts that are being sold and bought by everyone.
Liverpool have acted questionably to say the least over the whole affair, but they do not actively encourage their fans to shout racial abuse at people. Don't be so absurd, the guy was clearly a racist dumbass before the whole affair, even if he wasn't, it's his own fault for being so stupid.
Where do you think the idiot fan got the idea for wearing that T-shirt in support of Suarez from?
Was his offence wearing a t-shirt, or chanting racial abuse?
I'm sure he is a grown man, perfectly able to be responsible for his own actions.

Racial abuse. Details are sketchy at the moment. But apparently he was wearing that T-shirt and shouting racial abuse.
But wearing the T-shirt does signify that he was being influenced by the club's actions.
Well, the t-shirt is merely a question of morality. Racial abuse is against the law and never actively encouraged by Liverpool FC.
I'm not trying to suggest Liverpool haven't acted terribly, but they can't foot the blame for a man shouting racial abuse. Ultimately it's the guys own fault and he must take full responsibility for the crime of being a class A moron.
Of course he can't be blamed for that, but are you saying it's just an unlucky coincidence?

Granted, LFC took a poor stance on this whole thing, but it's unfair to make an example out of this and put it on the entire club. This was just one racist prick who was a racist prick before Suarez said anything to Evra. If this happens again then you can start to draw lines between the 2 but for now it's an independent situation.
EDIT: I thought it was just 1 fan - was it a group of people?
Maybe, maybe not... maybe this guy in question always hurls abuse when he wants. Maybe Liverpool's behaviour has given him some fuel, but there is a line between acting immoral and actively breaking the law.
We're probably talking about a fully grown man here, no matter how much of a div he is, or how stupid his club has acted, to hurl racist abuse at people is never acceptable and it's 100% his own fault, nobody else's.

Do ye reckon it happens all the time and it's just the current climate which made Adeyemi react?
I've thought this. Maybe the Evra case has showed players who have been racially abused before that they can speak up about it.
