Guardiola insults medical staff | Medical team resigns

Wtf homeopathy? Homeopathy is a joke and a butt of ridicule amongst respected physicians and scientists. They'd have the same reaction as Pep.

No they wouldn't they might not agree but to make a gesture like Pep did is completely out of order and for to do it in public he should have been sacked instantly. Best manager/coach in the world or not is irrelevant that is just down right bullying. It's there for all to see what a let down of a man.

Terrible to do it in public and he should apologize. You can't treat staff like that in public, and really shouldn't even in private.

If it's true that the medical team was using fraudulent, homeopathic treatments on his players, I understand Guardiola's rage, and not only should the medical team be removed but whoever knew about it and didn't fire them for doing so. I'm still not really sure why there aren't harsher penalties for "treating" patients with homeopathic remedies. Research is fine, of course, but actually charging people money and claiming it should be fraud, and at the very least medical licenses should be suspended or taken away for doing so.

A couple of things.

.His not Pep's medical team, he's Bayren and as already said in this thread Bayren said no to Pep when he wanted to bring in his own medical team. Also this could just be me being to used to the 'Fergie' way of management but it just seem odd for a coach to not be able to bring in his own medical team.

.While the guy might be one of the best around, he's also got some very weird ideas(The Homeopathy) as already mentioned in this thread.

.With that in mind you can see why Pep might struggle with control knowing that someone on his medical team thinks smearing honey onto people does something other than making them sticky and delicious. Especially during a injury crisis.

.Pretty simple one this but PRESSURE.

Also I don't get the Barca stuff is nonsense.

Honey is one of the most used dressings in the healing of wounds and is on the formula. This is medically proven and not homeopathy! Sorry to point this out but we use this daily in our clinics on the NHS!

Good lord Eboues hard on Guardiola is unbearable in this thread. This was shambolic from Pep. And if ppl can't see the difference between your actions towards the opposite team or your actions behind closed doors and THIS then there is sth very wrong

Honey mustard dressing, honey balsamic dressing, honey soy dressing, all delicious.

The pressure is clearly getting to him. He would never have reacted like this at Barca, it seems maybe he isn't mentally as strong as other top managers. I've always questioned his mental ability since he mentioned only coaching teams in cycles and that he leaves when he feels he's taken a team as far as he can. This just seems a weak minded mentality to me. I could never imagine fergie or mourinho moving on when a team has peaked before the decline.
They would see this as a challenge, and revel in it. But yea, it seems to me like the guy has completely lost the plot and his reaction reminded me of that of a child's. Not only in the public display of irritation, but also in the way he jumps around like a child whilst clapping sarcastically. Its incredible how fast the guys stock is falling.

Wow what a bastard. I don't want such a cnut anywhere near the club. Let's hire David Moyes again after Van Gaal. A man of true integrity.

What a prick. No self respecting individual would stay after that episode, so no surprises at the medical team quitting

What does that have to do with anything?
Are you implying they are all the same? In any case none of them are obviously impeccable. Even the greatest managers have flaws.
That has everything to do with your post. Are you implying you know them? My point is that you seem to doubt guardiola due to "social issues" he has based on a few or one instance of misbehaviour when many many top managers show similar moments of crass. Lvg has fallen out with management and boards before and mourinho is a tit a lot of the time. Turns out guaridola can also be a tit. Your basis doesn't make sense.

??? He twice ran away after winning the CL and wasn't interested at all in the challenge of keeping a team at the top. Ferguson is totally different in that regard of course, he deserves all the credit he gets. Mourinho has it all to prove though.

what does this mean exactly?

Mourinho left madrid after it all went to complete shit, and left inter and porto after they had won everything before the decline.

Sorry maybe my post was badly worded, it's early. I'm agreeing with you. What I'm saying is he doesn't seem to like the challenge of planning or implementing a re-build of a team.

Something that makes this worse is the fact that fella is 72 years old. I mean, come on

To be fair. In the case of Mourinho he left Porto and Inter for far better jobs, I don't think it was the challenge of keeping those teams at that level. It was more that the jobs on offer were far more prestigious.

That's actually sad.

Someone made a comment earlier how we excuse bad behaviour on a football pitch because it's on a football pitch.

"Oh but he's a lovely man off the pitch and does charity" and the sort.

Now, I'm not saying guaridola is a bad man because of one incident but bad behaviour should be treated as unacceptable on a football pitch just as it is at other work places.

I don't believe for a second that he used no scientific methods and only trusted homeopathy. Would be difficult to get a whole medical team and behind you to work for a professional football team with those methods.

I have a friend with a skin condition which affects his feet. Honey wax is the only thing that gets him through the day when he has bad days. So the honey thing doesn't sound fraudulent to me in any case.

 of course he didn't just use homeopathy.

Just watching the clip again, what really strikes me is how aggressive he is with it. Giving someone a golf clap if you think they've fecked up is one thing (and still not cool) but that was just downright nasty.

That's actually a good point, though staying on top is a huge challenge we never saw Mourinho achieve for one reason or another.

Yea you're right. I guess we'll get to see what he's capable of with this Chelsea team if he sticks to his word about building a dynasty. Although with the way we're looking at the moment I'm hoping LVG is going to beat him in that respect.

What's actually fascinating is that it took a full week and another conflict for it all to escalate. I wouldn't have blamed the medical staff if they punched Guardiola for acting like a dick during the game against Leverkusen after seeing that video clip.

Maybe he's against giving 'extra' help that Pep wants from his doctors? Maybe they can bring in Fuentes now.

That doctor does read like a very good conman on some levels. It is odd that he wants to keep his more extreme methods private. I just read that as him selling nonsense remedies for high prices on the back of his reputation.

Haha. What a knob. I actually think Pep has zero ability to handle pressure. One season of injuries and he starts acting like a prick in full public view.

It's no secret that Mull and Pep didn't get along well from the start. Clash of Egos, if you ask me.

German media say it was Müller-Wohlfarth and Rummenigge who had a fight over Riberys condition after the Porto game that pulled the Trigger.

I doubt you can change the narrative of this thread without a video that shows the fight though. Pep's cnutish behaviour in public makes it a much much better story.

Anyway, it looks like Rummenigge taking Pep's side in the fight was a tip of the iceberg thing. The groundwork for the escalation was done over the past 2 years. Hoeneß has a hell of a job to do now between nights in jail. At least it's never dull at the club, in a weird way I actually find it entertaining. If only we followed it up by a fantastic game on Tuesday :nervous:.

This Dr is meant to be really good (I say that without any basis or research), but we should hire him. Our injury problems every season can't get any worse

Don't know why people are suprised. He's always came across as a bit of a cnut.

That's one of the things I like at Real. The circus, the drama, the off the pitch entertainment....the full package! :D
