im still not convinced of him. I dont think he would work well in our formation.
4-3-3 is a different story.
Probably not yet.

Lacks the pace to be a top winger, lacks the vision to be decent enough in central midfield. Useful squad player for a big team, maybe.
Where exactly? We have enough players without pace and vision in our team thanks.
He isn't much better than Denilson right now,.........
I wouldn't say you would get him for any less than £20 and a couple of good performances at the world cup might send it higher. I would like to see him at Utd. Good skills no frills footballer.Milner would solve a whole host of problems for us - he can fill in the voids that will be left by both Giggs and Scholes (I am not saying he is as good as either before anyone jumps on that) plus he also provides cover at left back.
It is still not entirely clear to me what his best position is but I am sure Fergie can work it out - he is just a good all round players in my opinion and would be a great addition to our squad.
So how much do we reckon he would cost us? I would be willing to pay upto £20m
Maybe. One thing is for sure, he wouldn't be out of place in a top 4 squad. Down the middle or out wide.as a winger he is unlikely to have any 'wow' factor but as an attacking mid, he has enough pace, skill, ability to strike off either foot, determination, tenacity and vision and accuracy to be a 'wow' enough player to make it for any big side in the premiership.
Anyone who wasn't sure VDS was 'United quality' is a bit of a tit though, to be fair.
Well "to be fair" VDS was with a mid table team for quite a few years, so how can you say that you knew he was bound to be a success with us?
eh?
Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill insists there was no bust-up with chairman-owner Randy Lerner over unfounded reports that England star James Milner was to be sold to Manchester United.
And, while there has been speculation over his own future, O'Neill is also adamant that Lerner is not set to quit the midlands club.
O'Neill said: "There was a story that I had fallen out with the chairman because of a supposedly imminent transfer of James Milner to Manchester United.
"James would be worthy of playing in a side like that. I wouldn't think for one minute that top clubs wouldn't be interested in James Milner.
"He has been splendid for us this season but there is not one ounce of truth in the story. It is ludicrous."
O'Neill has spent a net £80million on new players in his four years at Villa.
He believes those players have increased significantly in value should Lerner ever decide he wants to leave Villa.
But O'Neill is confident that is far from the case with Lerner who also owns NFL side Cleveland Browns.
He said: "Since I arrived here four years ago, I've invested £80 million of the chairman's money and if he wanted to sell some of those assets - which he has not intimated at all - he would get that money back, and with a bit of interest as well.
"If you wanted to let four or five of the top quality players leave this club, you would get your money back but that has not been Randy's notion and I think he is trying to think about improving Villa Park as well.
"I don't think he is ready to walk away or worry himself unduly about his investment at all because he knows it is there on the pitch. We have a number of top quality players at this club."
James Milner to Man City for €22 million plus Stephen Ireland....
Without doubt the most over-rated player in the history of the game.

...
ireland will replace milner directly.
...
a lot of money to improve the squad overall ..
...
decent deal for both parties
What has happened to him? Excellent at Villa and interest from the bigger clubs, but he's been awful at city, their fans seem to want him out after just 9 months..
