Manchester City vs. Manchester United

Got to say that I'm surprised at the lineup, and I don't know whether to feel reassured or worried by it to be honest. I'm a bith of both.

Evans and Rio have formed a good partnership, however I was very worried about Evans tonight after last week. Obviously though, I don't have to worry about that now. Am I worried about Smalling? Give me the opening of the match and then I'll say whether I am or not. I've never seen a young defender who puts as much confidence in me as Smalling does, but it's a massive ask for him to suddenly come back into the team at centre back up against the most deadly forward partnership in the league.

Jones at right back is interesting. Rafael is undoubtedly better, but he can sometimes be rash and that's something you can't have in the big matches. Jones also adds height which can be key for set pieces, which can come into place for these sorts of games.

I don't know what to think about Park at centre mid. It's not his position; he doesn't usually play well there. Despite that, a lot of his poorer performances there have come in weakened central midfield lineups. He's beside our two best midfielders tonight, and he can often save his best for bigger games, so I've got hope in him.

I don't know what to think about Giggs. He adds experience admittedly, but I would've much rather had Valencia in the team if he was fit.

I have disabled my Footiefox addon, have my mobile on silent and disconnected myself from large parts on the net.

I guess this is me bottling it.

Gary Neville with some big pen action

Fergie hasn't spoke yet

Shat a large brick looking at the line up .. I don't know what to make of it .. :nervous:
Scholes and Giggs together too ? :nervous: :nervous:
I guess it's just down-to-knees-and-pray time

Our back 4 :nervous:

That's what I'm concerned about. Evans is a big loss as I think SAF would've played Smalling at RB and not Jones. Evans being out has really placed a spanner in the works for our plans I suspect. Though Jones can be useful at defending set plays against some their big players.

I don't think valencia would've done much against city, nani was the right option although would've liked another winger.

Reminds me of the 10-11 Champions League final, in terms of tactics.

Except we're not playing Barcelona :D

Looks like we're set up to absorb and counter. Really hope our defending is top notch.

At least we aren't playing Barca and at least a draw is enough and at least at least

Why is Gary Neville not scared?

Park and Giggs have been poor of late and Evans injured. Worried. :nervous:

We really really need Park and Giggs to not give the ball away cheaply.

It's all well and good saying Park is in there to do a job, but he hasn't been good at that job for a year or so now.

Surely it'll be Giggs in centre mid and Park out on the left? Park in the middle would be awful.

They're pricks, been down a good 20 minutes now.

Ed has some bets with Gary that he has to get some lines out on air.

That's not in a defensive handbook, that's sphagetti bolognaise that.

These 4 don't apologise, you could put a teatowel over them at times.

He wasa low hanging fruit for 5 months and noone picked him.

I hope Nev's had a word with our defenders, watching that analysis of the Everton game has me concerned.
