Got to say that I'm surprised at the lineup, and I don't know whether to feel reassured or worried by it to be honest. I'm a bith of both.
Evans and Rio have formed a good partnership, however I was very worried about Evans tonight after last week. Obviously though, I don't have to worry about that now. Am I worried about Smalling? Give me the opening of the match and then I'll say whether I am or not. I've never seen a young defender who puts as much confidence in me as Smalling does, but it's a massive ask for him to suddenly come back into the team at centre back up against the most deadly forward partnership in the league.
Jones at right back is interesting. Rafael is undoubtedly better, but he can sometimes be rash and that's something you can't have in the big matches. Jones also adds height which can be key for set pieces, which can come into place for these sorts of games.
I don't know what to think about Park at centre mid. It's not his position; he doesn't usually play well there. Despite that, a lot of his poorer performances there have come in weakened central midfield lineups. He's beside our two best midfielders tonight, and he can often save his best for bigger games, so I've got hope in him.
I don't know what to think about Giggs. He adds experience admittedly, but I would've much rather had Valencia in the team if he was fit.
