Let's focus on grooming pogba this season, when we can afford to do so.

Sure we can afford to give him minutes on the pitch on situations like this, when awe are winning. Cleverley and Ando is about to return, and may be we will see a trio of them in the center a few times this season.

Who knows?

And the people who dismissed him after few mins against Crystal Palace!

I am not saying this one performance means he will be the best player ever or something in future but you can see the class.

You could see that he was enjoying every second on the pitch against Stoke. And he was trying hard not to grin.

Hopefully he will stay here.

We still have the Europa League to test him out. Don't forget about that!

Pogba has more upside in terms of what he can do on a pitch, Ravel was one of rare players who makes something happen every time he plays, to put it lazily Ravel has the X-Factor. Pogba with his physical frame and technical attributes for me has the higher ceiling, although I feel Ravel is probably more consistent. I guess Pogba fits our style of play better, though it would have been nice to have a player like Ravel come through.

In the two league cup appearances Pogba came on as a holding / defensive midifielder and did quite well. Against Stoke perhaps we saw him in his best postion - going forward more and being a threat in and around the opposition box. It's difficult to compare the potential of Morrison and Pogba - purely in football terms. I thought Morrison was an exciting player who drove things forward and would score quite regularly. Actually from what i saw of him, again in the two league cup appearances he made, I thought he was excellent. However, very unfortunately, other factors come into play and he's history now. Perhaps Pogba is more versatile and therefore can fit into different roles - a quality Fergie likes. I think we have a real talent here and let's hope he gets plenty of opportunity now. Hopefully, if that happens, we can think in terms of jettisoning the overated (by some) and limited Anderson in the summer

Morrison and Pogba always seemed to have a great connection on the pitch. Do we know if they were good friends off the pitch? Perhaps we were worried that Morrison's lifestyle might affect Pogba's development as well. Thats of course if they were good friends

Did Morrison have any friends at the club? It sounds as if most were quite relieved when he left.

We're not exactly overstocked with CMs, I don't see why one coming through should mean we sell another, especially one who's only 23 and highly experienced.

I still think he should have replaced Scholes on Saturday.

I can understand Fergie's reluctance not to do this. If Pogba had cocked up and given Liverpool the win then it'd do more damage than it's worth. That's what this blooding in process has been about, as we've had him on the bench a lot but never in a situation to bring him on.

In hindsight, he probably would have done ok coming on for Scholesy, given how comfortable he looked the other night. It's no biggie though, he's earnt himself more trust after that performance I reckon.

If you've not seen much of Pogba at youth or reserve level, this video pretty much sums up what he's capable of. Look out for his goal against City and the pass at 5:00, which is one of my favourites. This is why I think he reminds me of Scholes so much..

If we'd signed a player this January with a YouTube video of that calibre, this website would've gone absolutely fecking mental. Pogba's had some fantastic moments of individual skill already for our youth and reserves, even though I would also echo the sentiments of other posters that feel he's currently quite weak when he's not in possession.

Morrison definitely has the edge in this aspect, but I doubt it's beyond a player of Pogba's talent to improve. Once he starts moving into space and demanding the ball more (something that will come with improved confidence, more experience and higher levels of fitness), Pogba could become a phenomenal player. The shooting, passing, vision, skill and composure on the ball...it'd be difficult not to compare him with Scholes.

I had the honor to talk with Pogba once when the youth team came to our supporters club. He's a very nice man. However, hidden inside a big man (believe me, he's huge) he's still a kid. We talked about his experience at his former club and you came across as a bit naive to be honest. I hope that he stirs away from the blood suckers that tend to stick to true talent.

Were you posting under another username then because I seem to remember another poster talking about this when I was in the newbies. Some Maltese guy.

Why did he come across as naive?

Uh oh. Doesn't matter if he came across as naive anyway, he's only 19 I wouldn't expect anything less.

Did he borrow your phone?

Not going to jinx him bout he uses his body Zidane/Riquelme esqu.

Nah. Maybe he was there when he came to the supporters club. The reserves were separated into groups and we were allowed to talk to each one of them. Everyone got a chance to talk with the players he wanted.

I've asked Pogba regarding his previous club and you could feel anger, surprise and frustration in his words. He said that Le Havre big guys never really considered him until United tried to sign him were they tried their best to keep him in France and make him sign a new contract. He sounded very surprised by such reaction. In my opinion Le Havre was acting normally. If a small club has a jewel and that jewel is suddenly wanted by a big club then they'll do their best to make sure that they make maximum profit out of him.

So tell me what would they try to do. Pogba wanted to leave and how things stood he was perfectly capable of leaving. The only thing they could do was to try to convince him in signing a contract and sell him at United for a decent fee.

Well... Pogba wanted to leave and how things stood he was perfectly capable of leaving.

You'll just have to take your biscuit and dunk it.

This post confuses me.

Do I have to explain myself again?!! Well, maybe he was there when he came to the supporters club. The reserves were separated into groups and we were allowed to talk to each one of them. Everyone got a chance to talk with the players he wanted.

Wait what?! An eighteen year old sounds "a bit naive"?

There are 18 yr old who are mature although I admit that its rare. However that's not point. At his age, Pogba will have to make some key decisions in life. I hope that he'll do them rght.

In my opinion the majority of clubs would have worked in that way. The location of the club is irrivelant

Exactly. Le Havre were probably not worried about losing him, then once they realised United were interested they did all they could to keep him. Obviously their facilities and club prospects will never match ours so they tried throwing a big wad of cash at him. If he signed they would be in a much better position to negotiate if and when he decided to leave.

I think Spoony is proving that devilish is actually a computer software.
