I don't think anyone saw Cleverley having the impact he had amongst fans opinions this season.
very true.

Errr so what's happened to that option we had on his contract?
Potential cancer, difference. I hate this contract rebel bullshit and the apologists for them trying to get the best deal. So he might be complaining about 12k a week instead of that 15 he wanted so much.
Cry me a river.
I keep hearing this but doesn't he also have the option to refuse it?
But that's the pathetic part.. What difference will the 3k now make if he establishes himself and gets a contract renewal in a year or two anyway? Look at Hernandez who got a pay-rise after his first year because we wanted to reward his first season. I bet he got a 20k pay-rise out of it, so moving because you didn't get 3k or 7k more than you want right now is silly. It all depends on how much more he's asking for which we don't really know. Him asking for 5 or 10K extra is more understandable than a first teamer asking for 50K extra.
He may have done feck all in the first team but he still has a value. Let's hope the parties agree on a common valuation soon.
SAF in December said:"We are negotiating with his agent and we want the boy to stay," he told reporters on Friday. "If he doesn’t want to there is not a lot you can do about it.
"We have an option on his contract which takes us into a year and a half away so in that respect there is not a great emergency. But we would like him to sign a new contract and if he wants to be a Manchester United player he knows what to do."
SAF after the Stoke game said:Ferguson hopeful over Pogba deal - Sport, Breaking News - Independent.ie
The United boss confirmed talks were continuing and he was hopeful of a positive resolution.
"The boy has great talent and tremendous physique for an 18-year-old," he said. "You can't believe it.
"We are negotiating his contract at the moment.
"It is a bit complicated at the moment because he has changed his agent a couple of times.
"But the boy wants to stay, that is obvious. Hopefully we can get it done soon."
Pogba last week said:"It's very good," he enthused. "Just to train with the talented players, top-class players, and improve and get more experience.
"When I'm on the bench, I just watch and want to play with them and get involved. Like against Liverpool, it was a great chance for me to be on the bench.
"I hope I will come on and do my best and show everyone what I can do."
What some of you don't understand is the relationship some of these agents have with the players. At times it is just 'owned'. The player may owe so much to the agent from early on in his life that sometimes it is a matter of life and death. He just can't sack the guy. Most of the perks that you got earlier on were without receipt so you just can't say you will compensate them as well. The agents live for this contract.

Which players have left it three months before the end of their deal?
With Fergie mentioning Pogba's 'Tremendous physique' often then its likely that Pogba will be ready for the first team sooner than most kids. Rafael Varane is getting his game for Real Madrid and he is the exact same age as Pogba so I hope Fergie throws Pogba in at the deep end at home to Ajax so the lad feels really part of Fergies plans and signs the bloody contract once and for all!
In terms of physique he is still pretty wiry, a bit like welbeck when he burst on to the scene. Obviously he will build it with time. Not a criticism but he may find his physical advantages at reserve level will not translate when playing with fully grown men.
I recall reading somewhere about Pogba being 80kg and indeed quite physical.
The fact that Fergie says Rio is doing a great job is encouraging. He really seems to help out with the youngsters, even trying to guide Ravel in the right direction. Could really see him becoming a youth coach in the future.
Aye he's a good bloke is our Rio and more intelligent than he gets credit for, as is Rooney.
who's a bit unsure what he's doing - "
He's probably not the brightest, that's true.
Could be worse, though. He could be the sort of infantile man-child that continues to watch WWE as an adult.
where did you see that KM? nothing on my timeline. there is time yet ffs, we can extend his deal by 1 year next month, and he will eventually stop changing agents left, right and centre.
I don't understand this. Why on earth wouldn't you sign a contract, is it really worth all this hassle?
