We fecked about offering Tev a new contract leaving it till the last minute and we lost him too. Not sure if it's similar or not but still seems to be part of a vague pattern of contract dallying.
The situation is different of course but were struggling to keep our best players, even Rooney wanted out.

To the Andreas Pereira-thread! Much more talented then Pogba anyways!

Isn't this the guy that now can't play football for the rest of the season because we messed up with his documentation? Another great move by us.
An administrative error at Manchester United means new signing Andreas Pereira won't be able to play competitive football until next season.
Voetbal International says documents from United detailing Pereira's housing and host family failed to be lodged in time to FIFA and so his release from PSV Eindhoven will not be rubberstamped until the market reopens at the end of the season.
Pereira can still train with United and play in friendlies.
Unfortunately I think you have crossed the line to idealism.
As I understand it: Pogba knows he is currently worth £x per week. He knows this because several clubs are willing to pay it, hence it is market value. His current team will not come near his market value, ergo either they don't believe he is as talented as other clubs or they want to pay him below his market value.
If you can give me a single reason that you would accept a lower (good) wage rather than a higher one simply because you are currently well paid I'll reconsider my stance.
Morrison had his chances and the club was fed up and Pogba's agent is a massive twat. Caving in this time would just mean we'd have to cave in a few years time when it was time to negotiate again. United isn't to blame in either case as I see it.
I think the main reason why people are reacting this strongly is that a large part of the reason we didn't sign an established central midfield player in the summer was because we had some big talent in Morrison and Pogba coming through. We basically jeopardised a season for future gain. If Scholes hadn't made his come back our midfield would look extremely weak, as it seems that Anderson isn't rated by Fergie at the moment and Cleverley has been very unlucky with injuries.
Indeed it is.
He's training some with the first team though, so he must have shown a fair amount of promise.
In the next few years we'll have Dæhli, Januzaj and Pereira though.
Whos to say their heads wont be turned too when Italian clubs come offering them double the salary we will offer them!
What a complete balls up. People like to think we get everything spot on when it comes to youngsters etc., but this has proven not to be the case. We need to sort our shit out.
Some of the reactions are crazy in here, I really don't know for this life. He could be missed in the long run (if he fulfils his potential) but I would rather we not get held to ransom by some scumbag agent.
If he wanted to stay he would have made it happen, unfortunately it didn't work out. We move on simple as.
It seems like we've messed up here. Firstly, Fergie thinks we've got the ace up our sleeve in the option to extend his contract for a year, only to be made to look stupid when Pogba's agents say it isn't enforcable by law.
Then we apparently decide to freeze a player out and make him train on his own in order to convince him to stay. Great move right there.

Its unreal how this story seperates the idiots from sensible folk

Lets for a second assume, even though I don’t fully agree, that the main factor behind us not signing a midfielder was fielding young blood. Even then I would stick by the club in a case of some youngster holding the club for ransom over financial gains.
I think as a young player they are supposed to show all hard work, punctuality, determination and ability to learn from the elder players. As mentioned earlier, even though money is quite important, they need to understand the privilege of wearing the Manchester United shirt. They should be doing everything in their power to get into the team whether it is training extra hard or going out on loan.
I believe that no single individual is bigger than the club. Therefore, even if the two brightest prospects were to leave us we will survive. For every Pogba and Morrison there is Fletcher, Danny, Cleverley etc (and that’s me not even mentioning Fergie’s fledglings).
Most definitely. I wasn't trying to say that the club was wrong, if that's how it came across in my post. I was just trying to say that most people wouldn't care this much if our midfield had been strong.
Agree with the rest as well. Young players at the club just need to look at the players already in the first team to see that hard work and patience will get you places.
But Morrison & Pogba were the solution to all our midfield problems guys, now we're doomed!!
They were our best young players though. Morrison, in particular, was a potential superstar.
Chill out, I'm sure Pereira will learn just as much training with the the squads and it will also give him time and space to adapt to the culture, it's not the end of the world.
Yeah, that's right. It was done to convince him to stay. Well done.
I'd be interested in reading those quotes.
I don't think your post implied anything negative at all.
I was just making a point in general, that it's just surreal that so many folks would side with the agent/player and blame the club and Sir Alex.
they hardly had a run of games in our first-team...they have both proven nothing at all.
It's not the end of the world, no. But it is still a basic error that shouldn't have happened.
People make mistakes, get over it.
Good attitude. That's what has got us where we are today.

I suppose this opens the door for Tunnicliffe now? One door closes, another opens.
So what you are saying is that we knew he would sign for Juve a week or so ago? The papers are getting it spot on with this Pogba situation so far and they had it as a 'sign or never play again, plus you're training on your own'. Why would freezing him out make him sign the deal? Even if he wanted to stay, it would only make him think it is now easier to leave.
My inner muppet is telling me that if we sign Javi Martinez then not only will Pogba be long forgotten but we might actually challenge for the Champions League again next year so loosing Pogba could turn out to be a huge blessing as the ugly bugger would still not have been ready for the 1st team for a couple more seasons. Could this turn out to be Fergies final transfer masterstroke before he calls it a day!!
Nah mate, they were the answer to everything. We never needed to buy another midfielder because they were 100% the answer to the problems we've had despite not playing for us at all.
