Juventus haven't given up on Manchester United's Paul Pogba - Sport Witness
We thought it was over, that the Pogba circus had been packed up and the player could now concentrate on his football. He played for the first team at the weekend in the victory against West Brom and then turned out for the reserves against Blackburn Rovers last night - a game in which he impressed.
Surely the rumours would now stop? Well, no. On our daily trawl through the Italian press we've found two stories which suggest Juventus haven't given up on signing the player. Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio told Italy's Sky Sports "Juventus is always first in line for Pogba" and on reports that he'd signed a new Manchester United contract "It's always rumours."
Another journalist, Cristina Guerri has today said on Calciomercato that the English press are premature to say Pogba is staying in England and there is a still a strong possibility of him joining Juventus in June. Their scenario is that Manchester United have offered a new contract but that Pogba will still turn it down and go to Turin, saying negotiations are at an advanced stage.
It's almost turning into a custody battle between the Italian and English press. Those who have been following Paul Pogba and are frustrated by the lazy references to him as 'the next Patrick Vieira' will chuckle when they hear the Italian press do it too!
As ever, if and when anything else happens we'll let you know
