Rooney

I've been thinking for some time that the man child that is Rooney has peaked. The signs of decline are already there.Blessed with a powerful physique at 16 he dominated youth football and was more than a match for the senior flight....however,his physique has always been more that of a sprinter/boxer than a footballer. He was a freak for his age at 16.

He appears now to be musclebound with a tendency to pile on the pounds particularly as he gets older.

No surprise therefore that he tends to fade often disappearing in matches because he lacks stamina. As he gets older I predict he will continue to struggle both with his weight and fitness.

Make the most of him for what remains.......he will continue to disappoint as he declines
I know a lot of Arsenal fans that think this. Never really heard it from the dippers or the renties. I think it has something to do with the fact that the arsenal's ideal footballer is a willowy sapling of a man child, graced ith the skills of platini and the physical presence of a band of elven dancers.

This season Rooney looks much leaner than previous ones where he did appear to be packing an extra few pounds, so to say that he'll put on weight and struggle to maintain his career has no logical basis.

Hehe

Gillespie must be on a business trip.

Noticed by the way that Theo Walcott made his 24th Aarsenal appearance yesterday. Still haven't found the back of the net...

The thing with Walcott is, he actually does look shit

He is still 17, I suppose
That's no excuse, Rooney was sending wondergoals past Seaman at 16.

That's true though, I haven't seen him do a thing when i've been watching. Must have been awesome at Southampton.

Theo Walcott should be honoured to be discussed in the same thread as Rooney.

KFC, you're a complete idiot if you don't understand what is going on in this thread.

Oh, wait...

All I seen was you saying Walcott was shit. Perhaps you were being sarcastic I don't know since I didn't have the time to read all 200 and something posts.

Obviously you didn't even read the post I was replying to.

Presumably you were in too much of a hurry to have a go at me, since you seem rather fixated of late.

I love you too, KFC, but as I already explained to you, we can't be together. I've got a wife and two cats. And I'm not a raging poofter.

PS. It's "all I saw". I hope this helps.

Walcott looks like he's 12 years old.

Past his best.

He looks stunted. I bet he'll look exactly the same in 10 year's time.

Worry not. Walcott will score a tap in for Arsenal in the last 5 minutes of a game soon enough and he will be England's next saviour. You'll get a whole Match of the Day episode about Theo Walcott and his goal and Motson will have someone else to wank over instead of Rooney for a change.

On a serious note, in terms of his International career i really hope he doesn't end up with as much pressure on him as Rooney gets. Not only is it unfair on the little kid, but i really can't be assed to listen to "Walcott on the ball, can he do something special for England?" every time he receives a pass aswell.

Doesn't matter anyway. He's peaked.

I'd like to know if Gillespie still feels this way given Rooney's recent performances, as he approaches 20 goals.

Although Rooney has not been at his highest standards for some parts of the season, he has still worked hard and contributed goals. Seems to me like he's finding his consistency again.

Any news on Gillespie's whereabouts today?

Just worried about him, because he's not posted since his vaunted Arsenal Youth behaved like petulant children at the league cup final.

Rooney gets goals 21 and 22 today, putting him even with PFA Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo.

We really could use Gill's expert opinion on whether this is just a minor blip in the inevitable demise of the "man child" that is Wayne Rooney.
