I mean we are imprisoning people in the UK for 'noisy' protest, and we aren't even in a war. During WW2 similar actions were criminalised and punished with long jail terms.
If anything that was/is a case study of democracy taking a back seat in times of crisis - restricting basic rights for what people believe to be the greater good - isn't it? And again - I fully understand why they are doing it and I don't really object to it. I just find the framing by the Tweet pretty ridiculous.
