See, like i said, TWO wonderkids....

LOL.

Not out-of-this world. But he did play some really good football!

I hope to see Park and Ronaldo feature in games more often!!

Pompy were shite but ronaldo kept it simple for the most part and looked a far far better player for that.

Played with an intension of being productive. Park's arrival and Giggsy's return have done him good. I think he realises now that its the only way he can bag a regular first team place.

think our midfield looked really balanced today, smith was outstanding and scholesy is back, park looked busy and kept it simple more creative than fletcher but flethers a centre mid as we know.giggs played ok, and ronaldo tore them to shreds when there legs were going.great to see when our squad is fully fit its good to know we have some impact players be it park, saha, ronaldo or giggs who we can bring on second half to help change things etc.bloody good performance passing was crisp, tempo was kept up rain helped too.

Anyone who likes Ronaldo as much as Rooney is bent

Nah not really. Maybe it's a footbaling culture thing. Some like to see a crunching tackle as much as some brilliant tricks, but i don't. As well as being a United fan, i'm a neutral as well and like to be entertained, and for that purpose, when Ronaldo gets the ball it excites me more than Rooney, who may well be a 'better' player.

...as well as being daft as a brush I'm an idiot as well.

You can't be a neutral if you support one of the sides.

As I say...bent

So you get excited at someone trying to do too much, fall over his own feet and then cry his eyes out when the bad referee doesn't give him a free kick for falling over his own feet :nono:

If he stopped dicking about so much I might take to him a little more.

Your pseudonym hints at what type of player you like but at least Andrei was effective most of the time , unlike Ronnie who falls over most of the time

I would like to point out that before we signed Rooney, most people consistently said that " Ronaldo is far better than Rooney". Fickle cnuts...
I always rated Roo more than ronnie even when he was at Everton.
I have this horrible feeling that Ronaldo is playing the wrong league, La liga is probably be better for him.

Is that what i said? I said i like to see tricks, and by that, you come up with bollocks. I paid money to order that game, and apart from when Ronaldo came on, i didn't get much entertainment. Of course the result is important, after all, Ronaldo created a goal, but i can't stand dire football, whatever the result.

I am still trying to figure out what did our team benefit from his step overs? Did he make a good cross that I did not see?

I am so happy when I see him not starting and Park is starting instead.

That much is clear.

You'll always get that result if you compare a winger with a player who plays in the position that get's the most hype in football. Not saying Rooney is not better, and that is not the bloody point of this thread. However, people jump on Ronaldo and forget that he is also 20 and learning. He's fecking gifted too, and my point is, it was always a case of 'we have two of the world's best youngsters', but now people act as if it's only one. That was my point.

I don't understand all the Ronaldo bashing.
He was very good today, possibly better than Rooney who had had an average first half.

Did you even watch the game?

Park may well be more polished in some aspects. However, a blind man can see Ronaldo is much more gifted than him. He's also 4 years younger. Ronaldo will only improve with games, but the ability is so beyond question.

That's not much of a point...for one thing fans will always focus on the best....and, if Ronaldo were as routinely brilliant as Rooney, then people would say the kind of things you like to like to hear. That said, young flair players are notoriously up and down in the form department...and fans are fickle to a ridiculous level, so you may have indirectly scored a semi-point re: Ronaldo.

This is his best game for us this season from my point of view. Love the way he played today, just right in every decision he made combining his dribbling, the right time to cross and his tricks/stepovers in a balance and effective way. He played better than Rooney today. Sadly for me, i think he will still go back to his 'old ways', i hope i'm wrong but i doubt i'm wrong.

It's not a matter of who's better, Rooney can be just as brilliant as Ronaldo at times, if not more.
Rooney is a more complete player, Ronaldo is still playing like a teenager most of the time (a very gifted one I'll give him that), doesn't seem to be the case when he plays for Portugal btw.
You don't often see a 20 year old run a team like Rooney does for us at times.

Now that is the best post I've seen in this thread.

scholes was super as the playmaker. smithy played agressively and barely missed a tackle and park was busy. giggs looked sharp considering his recent absence and ronaldo was the catalyst for the last 2 goals......

Was George Best right when he was speaking about Ronaldo?

"There have been a few players described as 'The new George Best' over the years, but this is the first time it has been a compliment to me.
There have been players who have similarities but this lad's got more than anyone else - especially as he is genuinely two-footed.
He can play on either wing, beat players with ease, put in dangerous crosses with his left or right peg.
Cristiano's first United game as a substitute in the season opener against Bolton was the most exciting debut performance I've ever seen.
I was watching (Manchester United in a pre-season friendly against Sporting) with a friend of mine and I said 'Someone's got to snap this kid up' - and guess who did?
The £12.4million fee might seem a high price, but I think it's a snip. You are talking about a lad who, if he stays injury-free, has 15 years ahead of him in the game."
