Tevez

It seems to me that folks are coming to the Rooney/Tevez/Berbatov 'question' from the wrong angle here.

SAF's current challenge is to get each of the 3 into good enough form, and sufficiently developed mutual understanding, that when a player is suspended or injured the other 2 will do an excellent job for us. Once these objectives are achieved he also has the luxury of 'refreshing' the starting line-up periodically and preventing the players from burnout.

At this stage SAF doesn't need to settle on which combination is going to be his first choice for whichever circumstances. Let's hope he get's it all sorted for 'squeaky-bum time' though.

free agent then??

why don't we wait till he's a free agent then??

or would it be too late?? someone like REAL would pick him up before then ay?

It's an interesting point - unlike a normal player, who would eventually become a free-agent, somebody has to agree a valuation with MSI, presumably. If they don't, then he's like a pre-Bosman retained player, who could end up with not contract, no club, no wage. Or have I missed something? This whole 3rd party thinkgs makes my brain hurt!:wenger:

Mcfeckwit in completely missing the point shocker. Tout ca change.

The point would have been that, just like Tevez, Berbatov and Rooney are all £30 million classed strikers, Evans, Rio and Vidic are all top class defenders. The difference is Tevez is an extremely experienced player and Evans is not yet. So the comparison faulters

There is no point.

I know that many Caftards love Carlos "I clutch the badge" Tevez, but you have to agree that it was terrible game by Carlitos.

I know that Berbatov's penalty was terrible, too, but I just can't watch this Tevez. Where is Carlitos from last season? Where is his form?

He was TOTALLY useless today.

I expected something more form him. He didn't play in Porto on Wednesday, with that team he should have won today's game for us.

Berbatov let me down, he should have scored this penalty, but Tevez let me down much more.

We most certainly won't spend £20m on him this summer, let alone £30m.

Gives his all for United, but was really disappointing today.

Don't think that his performance was useless.

He had a decent game imo.
Immense effort, but he wasn't enough of a danger in front of the goal

Ferguson isn't stupid, he knew a year ago that Tevez had his limitations. His first touch is poor and unless he gets a bit of space he struggles moving the ball. Berb looked like a better option but he isn't pulling his weight either.

Tevez will not be here next year, and maybe Berb will be used has trade bait as well.

Tevez looked like a headless chicken at times for me today. Doesn't fill me with confidence and his decision making is plain wank. Even after todays performance I would prefer to have Berbatov in the starting XI before Tevez....and I think Berbatov is a heap of shit of late!

 AIG fo' life, yo!

I was disappointed with Tevez too though, out of the 'holy trinity' he seems to be the only one who can't bring out a performance on his own this season. I love the guy, and on last seasons form I wouldn't want anyone else in his place. He scores important goals, has a knack for popping up in the right place, but more often than not this season he's just looked too sloppy to work out.

What really puzzles me is that last season at times he looked almost impossible to shake off the ball, yet this season it looks almost impossible for him to hold onto it. Has he been found out, or has he just been out of sorts?

Tevez needs some lessons in first time shooting and first touch.

I hope Rooney, Ronaldo, Giggs can help him out. or is it too late?

He did ok, but he's just too much of a hot and cold player for me. Thing is, this season he's been far more cold than hot. For every 'Fulham FA Cup performance' we had five bad ones. And it's got nothing to do with the amount of football he's been getting. He may not start regularly, but he had enough matches. While he's capable of magic, long term, I prefer more direct players like Welbeck and Macheda.

Tevez plays well when he's together with Ronaldo and Rooney. The pace and skill of the latter two makes Tevez look better than he really is. Reality is that Tevez is too slow to be a 32 million pound player. High workrate and an attempted diving header to Gareth Barry's clearance cant make up for his lack of the critical asset for a striker : pace.

Now that's retarded. Bergkamp was shit, Cantona was shit, Ruud was shit. You see where I'm going with this?

I don't know.....we know how teveztating he can be when played on the same team with rooney. I don't think we have seen that partnership much at all this season, really.

Two things count against carlitos, firstly, his size - he's not got the height to go with his width, and though he is strong, naturally bigger players than him can handle him physically.

The second is his lack of pace. He's not a slouch by any means, but coupled with the lack of size (and reach of leg), most defenders get to the ball before him. He seemed to be almost clear a few times, yet defender caught up with him.

Its funny, at the start of pre-season it looked almost like he had gained a yard of pace. Yet, as the season wore on he's gone back to slowcoach again. Is there anything that can be done on his pace/acceleration? maybe a diet or sessions with Usain? ()

He wasn't great today, but then nor was Park. Or anyone really apart from Rio and Vida. The youngsters did well for themselves and should be proud of their performance, but our team just lacked balance. Welbeck on the left? Moving Gibson on to the right baffled me as well, especially since most of the Everton attacks were coming down that flank and we left and inexperienced fullback, who was already on a yellow, completely exposed. bizarre decision in my eyes. Anderson on the flank and Welbeck on the right might have given us a bit more balance and less sloppy play.

Why didnt he take a peno?!?! and why didnt scholes as well?!

Scholes is a poor peno taker.

Tevez should have taken the first, have little doubt he would have slotted into the side nettng

extremelyy poor for a few games now - as usual, appluading a players commitment, passion, loyalty, etc is one thing, but for me, once they cross the white line, everything is thrown out the window and it's all about NOW and frankly, he just doesn't seem to have it in his locker....

His touch, shooting, pace and creativity are veryy poor
