After today's match, I hope we bring him ASAP. We need a change of style, our football is outdated. He'll have a lot of work on his hands in the summer trying to fix this squad.
What technique? Carrick couldn't even make a 5 yard pass. van Gaal requires all of his midfielders to be very mobile and Carrick and Flether just aren't.
He needs to rip the whole thing up and start from scratch. Whether he can do that in just 2 years I don't know. The club stinks right now.

One of the mistakes Moyes made albeit understandable was his stance to give everyone a chance. I hope LVG gets rid of some of the dead-weight immediately and makes his stamp upon the team.
He's never going to live up to the hopes and dreams we have now for him but that's just down to this incredibly bad season.

I hope Van Gaal is the real deal and not some false apparatus that would try to imitate Sir Alex success. We need drastic change to our philosophy and player management, that only a manager with a good understanding of football can command.

He just seems like the best available option. All things considered we need some experience in at the top level and changes throughout the squad. We need someone from the outside to come in and inject fresh ideas in the club. We also need a serious rethink about what the "Man Utd Way" will be from now on. Trying to play the same way we always have, and replicate the same things we've always done leads to stale performances like we've seen this season. This straight 4-4-2 with wingers has become predictable and the opposition are using the same tactics to nullify us every time.

He'll probably say in his first press conference that he is twice the manager Fergie was.Hiring a new manager is only the start of a long process. We need a squad clear-out IMO, hopefully LVG can do it quickly.

True point about Moyes. But Moyes seemed to know little of the squad issues at United despite managing in the same league. Will LVG know better? Who will tell him who the deadwood are? Giggs doesn't seem to have the heart to kick anyone out of the club.

Folks have become extremely reactionary over the course of this season. That's understandable given our track-record of success but we must bear in mind that getting someone like LVG is only the first step. We need to sign players in key positions and implement a revamped system beyond that. It might even take the whole of next season because our players aren't accustomed to change having been institutionalised by Sir Alex. Anyone hoping to witness a rapid turnaround is setting him/ herself to be disappointed. Not saying that it will not happen but it might take time and we'll have to be patient as the new players and coaches get used to the club. That said I'm certain some will be calling for LVG's head within the first 2 months of his tenure.
Van Gaal knows very fast who the deadwood is. And he has a very good eye for the special ones - even the ones nobody else recognizes or positions where you do not expect it. And the ones that do not have enough discipline for it and do not work for the team.
And I think that it is an advantage for the rebuild or change that you are not playing in Europe. The European rhythm just means that the week often just consists out of travelling, regeneration and special match preparation - you do not have time really work on the system.
