Wigan Athletic v Manchester United

Wigan: Al Habsi; Ramis, Caldwell, Figueroa; Boyce, McCarthy, McArthur, Beausejour; Di Santo, Maloney, Kone

Nice team. I was hoping Kagawa would start with RvP, but that's just me.

McCarthy is a proper little player, I'm surprised nobody has been in for him yet.

Good side. Really flogging Evra and Carrick mind you.

Hopefully Anderson is back shortly as Fergie obviously does not feel Fletcher is able to cover for Carrick.

Great to see Rafael back. About time Valencia is dropped - as much as I like the guy, he hasn't deserved to start recently.

I'm confident.

Fully agree.

Only tweaks I might have made to the line up would be Kagawa cutting in off the left instead of Giggsy (although given his performance against Newcastle the start is warranted) and Vida for Ferdy (although 2 games in a few days might be too tough on that knee).

No complaints about the lineup. Sure it will be a tough match. If we can get a clean sheet here, I'll be very pleased. Surprised Jones didn't make the bench though.

I'd have liked Kags to have started up top with RVP but other than that I'm happy with the line-up.

I'd rather have Kagawa and Vidic in the starting XI, but I guess they're being rested. Still a very good team though..

Fletcher not had more than 2 minutes of football over the last month.

I'd too have loved to see Kagawa start, but Hernandez deserves to start, no doubt about that.

Good side.

Great to have Rafael back, will be interesting how he and Young link up. Glad the Clev-Carrick midfield combo is unchanged.

Glad to see Van Persie and Hernandez up top together, I like this partnership. We had tonnes of chances when we used that in the Newcastle game, I'd fancy both to nick a goal today.

Fine with Giggs starting this one and thankfully it's on the wing rather than in the center of the midfield, much more effective out wide. Awesome to see Raf back too.

Excellent team and bench as well. When we get Jones, Anderson, Nani and Rooney back, and hopefully Fletcher somewhere close to his best, we'll have some top players missing the cut altogether.

I know. He was playing relatively regularly early season in the League cup and Champions League as well. Not a great sign on his comeback that we have not trusted him with at least one start over the xmas period.

good team, happy to see Carrick and Cleverley start in centre midfield I was worried he'd rest them for this.

Very happy with the team, and so happy to see Valencia dropped. His crossing was slightly better against West Brom but he's still playing so horribly and it's not like he's still doing his best defending. Give him a break and see what he's like in a few weeks time. Love to see Kagawa get 30 minutes in the second half.

I agree that valencia should be dropped but to me it looks like he has been given rest.

Good team that, glad to see Giggs and Young starting.

I like him, hence the username, but he was pretty woeful in those games.

For him, obviously, it would be better to be playing but for us? No way.

As much as I agree with those saying that Valencia has been poor and deserves to be dropped, he was showing signs of improving slightly the last few times out, and it would have been interesting to see what he was like with Rafael behind him again .

I did not think he was woeful early season. He was playing a different role than previously and playing as the deepest midfielder. He was nothing special and understandably lacked a bit of sharpness but I thought some of his displays were decent.

Personally I think it's pointless having a big squad if you don't use it and that everyone should contribute. Long term, I don't think being over-reliant on Carrick is good for United because it means we are fecked if he ever gets injured and we risk knackering him out by playing him every single game. If Fergie has not got the confidence to give Fletch a game over the xmas period it's a bad sign for his comeback and just leaves us with the Anderson/Clev partnership as an alternative. Scholes ain't the answer in a midfield two IMO.

A lot of people say he's been dropped but it could also be about fatigue. He's played non stop since the Man City match. This and maybe coming on as a sub against tired defenders might help him perform well and therefore give a confidence boost.
A series of hypotheses by me

Dudes, go on rojadirecta or wiziwig for rivers. Tons of them on different quality and languages. No need to be asking for it...
