twitter really is a complete and utter waste of time.
I agree, that's why I don't use it.

Given the huge coverage, I'd say Rio generated the awareness he was hoping for.
It may be abit stretched, but given how media savvy SAF and Rio are, one can't help but suspect this is some kind of media set up.
If not, sincerely hope Rio and SAF quickly work out a compromise which allows SAF to save face and so mob on from this petty saga and both concentrate on the real problem: the unacceptable use of racism in football and indeed modern day Britain.
Sack Fergie!Hire Rio !!(As player manager)
Ferguson doesn't know anything at all about what he is doing!!!
Rio knew full well that the t-shirts would be worn. He knows they have always worn them in the past. He has worn them in the past. Thus it is expected that he will.
If he plans not to he has to let management know. It's not a contractual obligation, it's basic common sense that should be expected from such an experienced player.
The moment he heard about Roberts' stance the first thing he did was go and twit shit around. The first thing he should have done is realise the shirts would be an issue that weekend and if he was planning not to wear one let his manager know. Clearly he did not.
Looking at some of the papers, the story appear to be over. They met, Ferdinand apologized for not giving Fergie the heads up, there won't be any disciplinary action and that's that.
The players, FA, SAF, all have to do something regarding Racism, and all the issue aside, they're doing their best.
It's easy for us to say otherwise in an internet forum, but do you fecking expect Terry to get jailed for 1 month? Seriously, He got caught, got fined, and suspended. WTF does Rio expect more?
He can feck off for all I care if he decided to kick up a fuss with SAF over this. They got paid millions, and it's not like exactly Rio got racist attack of any sort, this whole fecking racist bullshit is getting out of hand.
It's Terry and Suarez vs. Evra and Anton, it's not like the whole FA is a bigotry racist. Punishment have been dealt with, I don't see anything wrong with what the FA are doing honestly.
I dont understand the relevance of this post, whats it got to do with on-field performances or results?
I'm guessing it was in reference to a poster saying if Rio is punished he'd like to see Fergie get the sack. Or summat...

You're all a joke.
"I hope he goes off into the sunset".
We're talking about a player here, versus the greatest thing to ever happen to this football club.
You should all be embarrassed. Forget the issue, or the context, if you're willing to back a player over the manager on ANY issue, further calling for the Great Man's head, you're a laughing stock.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says he has resolved his dispute with Rio Ferdinand over the defender's failure to wear a T-shirt supporting the Kick It Out anti-racism campaign group.
The pair held talks after Ferdinand arrived for training at Carrington on Sunday after the player became the only member of the United team not to wear the T-shirt ahead of Saturday's game against Stoke at Old Trafford.
Following Ferdinand's defiance over the issue Ferguson said the 33-year-old would be "dealt with".
But the pair have now resolved their differences, although Ferdinand is set to be rested for Tuesday's UEFA Champions League clash with Braga.
"I think he felt I should have spoken to him on Friday and I also didn't anticipate we would have any problem in the dressing room with wearing the T-shirt," said Ferguson.
"My advice to him is that I always feel the union (PFA) is stronger than an individual and it's important he airs his grievances to the right people, to the PFA or to the FA.
"It really has been just a communication problem.
"Obviously as the manager of a club, when you lay down policy you don't want to see it ignored and that's where my anger came from on Saturday.
"But we have resolved the situation and there are no lingering problems and we move on. That's the end of the matter."
The Scot also revealed he has decided to leave out Ferdinand and Patrice Evra for the Braga game ahead of the Premier League showdown with leaders Chelsea on Sunday.
"He and Patrice Evra will not play. There is a big game at Chelsea on Sunday. They will be the two main changes on Tuesday," added Ferguson.
The decision not to play Ferdinand could see Jonny Evans paired with rookie Scott Wootton against Braga at Old Trafford
Let's hope so.
So when all is said and done it turns out this was not that big of a deal, SAF and Rio chatted and worked it out. Shocking.
Oh no! There are going to be a lot of disappointed Sports editors out there!
I'd like to think it's done, but no doubt it'll be the main topic of conversation in thebuild up to the Chelsea game.

Anyone think Rio might reject a 1 year extension for a move to a club that offers him a longer contract?

"We have always adopted that policy of offering one-year contracts, so we will see as the season progresses. I didn't even realise his contract was up. You are making me panic."
