Yeah I think this is true, if you're behind the opponent, even if the pass is backward you can still be offside

I found an article from BBC

You can't be offside if:

  • You receive the ball directly from a goal kick, a throw-in or a corner
  • You are in your own half of the pitch
  • You are level with the second last or last two opponents
  • You are level with or behind the ball
  • You are not actively involved in play, as explained above
    For any offside offence, the referee awards an indirect free-kick to the opposing team, to be taken from the place where the infringement occurred.

It's awfully close on whether any part of his body he can legally score with is in front of the ball. Maybe just his left foot but you can't blame the assistant for not seeing it. Add to that the ball is played backward into the box then a Liverpool player plays it forward so he's not offside there.

Getting a player "up to speed" does not always involve chucking them straight into the starting line-up. Though training and a few sub appearances Morata will get there. The season is long, Michy is in great form so it's no big deal.
 
I can't tell if he's offside or not, but all the 'pool fans in this bar in lanzarote are going fecking ape, it's great fun

Ramsey's was excellently taken but there was literally a whole host of Arsenal players on the edge of Leicester's box who were all over the place as a substitution had just taken place. That one could've been prevented with better organisation/communication. I can't even remember Giroud's, to be honest. EDIT: Yeah, beastly header, bullying Maguire(?) that was a very good goal.

Yeah I think starting off with Michy is a much better idea. Looked good in the Community shield and provides great movement. Getting Morata in slow is probably the best for ye.

True but it doesn't bode well for English teams in Europe.
 
Might not be offside, but he is interfering with the goalie in the 6 yard box and basically body checking him. Anywhere but the PL, that's a foul. Even in the PL, some refs might call it.

Bloke interviewing Klopp on Sky just stated that the third Watford goal "was offside", he was behind the ball when it was played!
 
Didn't realize Darren Fletcher is now a Stoke player. Why on earth would West Brom sell him? Thought he was great for them.
 
Chelsea's depth is terrible. They surely have to sign 3-4 players yet.
