Angel Di Maria | Performances | Wife: "He only joined United for money. The food was disgusting. The women look like porcelain"

It doesnt surprise me that he's flying at PSG. I'm not sure I'd be over the moon if he was doing the same thing here, knowing what kind of person he is now. But it seemed a very high likelyhood that he'd get back to playing good football

A person who didn't want to play for a prick of a manager for a team that is clearly going backwards?
LVG never backed him once, anyway I hate him for not sticking it out, but from his point of view, I reckon he made the right call tbh

He gave up at the first sniff of trouble, admitted he didnt want to come here anyway and almost forced us to sell him. It would have been very difficult to keep him.

The manager didnt help at all, but I think any manager would have had a problem with someone of his nature, if not now then in the future.

I don't disagree with some of your points, he did give up very easily, but during the season it was always clear to me that this was coming since the way LVG treated him.
Especially not once backing him in a press conference, I found it very odd. So given that, I kind of reckon that there is more to what happened than meets the eye. I am also willing to bet that if we had a manager who treated him differently he would still be here, thats just my opinion though.

I agree with you. It's already been said many times, but I believe under Fergie he would have truly flourished here. We might not have been his ideal destination but with the right setup and a manager like Fergie he would probably have come around to it. Instead it wasn't his ideal destination and he had a senile old Van Gaal to welcome him to Manchester. But it is what it is and we have to look ahead. Unfortunately the view ahead is looking extraordinarily bleak.

He had more than just one. I think he had something like 3 mishit shots that turned out to be 'assists'. According to some on here, he meant that

What a terrible person he is not wanting to play under LvG and in a declining team, in a country he didn't want to live in.

I get so annoyed when he does well for PSG, because I firmly believe he'd be the best player in the league under a different manager.

If he had signed for City for example he'd of been ridiculous playing fast attacking football with the likes of Silva & Aguero, rather than slow possession based football with Rooney and Falcao.

Nah we can still feed ourselves the lie that he can't handle the Premier League even though he has succeeded in La Liga, the Portuguese League, Ligue 1 and most importantly the Champions League... Right?

The move to PSG was a very good one for him,PSG and possibly even us.

He's playing well for his team, enjoying his football for a club he prefers.

PSG get a world class player to boost them in their attempts to win the UCL. They are getting a good return on their investment to.

We limit our losses on a player that wanted to leave, and prevent a major depreciation of an asset that didnt fit here.

I dont really have any ill-feelings toward ADM. Sometimes this things just dont work out. A lot of people accuse him of jumping at the first of trouble, but lets be honest, we were very willing sellers too.

He's a good player, and I hope he does well for club and country (as long as it's not to United's direct detriment)

For us? It took out one of the only creative forces we had last year.

Of the decisions made by the club over the past few years, getting rid of ADM was not one that I have a problem with. He didn't want to be here and his attitude was a disgrace. OF course he is going to do well in the French league, he's a world class player playing in a crap league. Its frustrating that it didn't work out here because we would all have loved an on song ADM playing for us, especially when he's probably the exact type of player that we would all bring in if we had the choice, but he couldn't be arsed, never wanted to be here and was an absolute waste of time bar his opening few games.

Oh dear what a pity never mind.
No one made him come here, he chose to and then bottled it at the first sign of difficulty, he is a gutless pansy and I am glad we got rid.

What do you mean by first sign of difficulty? I left my last job because the management were a punch of pricks, does that make me a gutless pansy?

The fact that the only attacking player I can actually say has got anywhere near their potential playing under LVG is Young, says an awful lot. Call ADM a gutless pansy, to me its also clear he saw the writing on the wall and bolted as soon as he could. Probably a very wise choice.

No, because he didnt leave because the management were pricks, he left because he didnt have the balls to fight for a place in the team, and didnt want to be here, and had no intention of staying past the first year when he signed.

Lack of balls

He showed a lack of balls putting in motm performances in the champions league final right enough.

He came to us as counter attacking midfielder, and one of the best in the world. We played him in various positions, and eventually dropped him for Ashley Young. Ffs he started upfront for us one time.

Lack of balls = not wanting to play shit football under a shit manager who competes to get 4th and can't get past the group stages

He clearly made the right decision

Not United quality. Doing it at a smaller club like Kagawa.

Lets face it chaps, Di Maria was more than good enough, but our manager just din't know how to get the best out of him. Up front, then in midfield, then on the wing, back up front, on the bench...

100% true. I argued, back in summer, that we should never have let him go. He would be perfect in this mess of a team.

Cheeky bid for this guy?

If Mourinho is coming in it would have been good to still have Di Maria, oh well
