He was! He was loving it really, he could've just walked away from it but he stayed and answered a few questions. Hopefully it means it's close to being done.

It is a little concerning that he has come out with this.

Maybe from the club's side this isn't a done deal as we've all been thinking and maybe he's trying to force the issue.

I'm probably being paranoid as we've fecked things up quite a bit over the last year.

He's already got Fergie's nacks with the media

"That's a stupid question"

He was clearly saying what do you know about United, as in is there a deal there. Not literally what do you know about United. He'll be the most feared man in the country. Those journos were already shitting themselves.

I feel the same way. After last summer, I'm paranoid about is making a meal of our next appointment.

The whole "try for fabregas and get Fellaini" thing springs to mind.

No he was actually asking him what he knew about Manchester United. He follows it up saying "you e obviously played against them in the champions league.." It really was a stupid question.

I think this is what is happening:

He has an offer from Spurs and is negotiating with Man utd. That is why he said other clubs are interested bull, to not make him seem desperate. Whatever clubs he has negotiated with that is other than united, he will not take it if Man utd came in for him. That is 100% certain. His joy and excitement and "the biggest club in the word speech" just says it all.

Man utd on the other hand are waiting until The season is over out of respect of Giggs to announce the new manager by signing the deal with Van Gaal. In the mean time, they are looking at other candidates in the time period between now and the end of the season.

It got to a stage where I'm going to be upset if he isn't our next manager. He seems to be everything we need.

Handled it perfectly!

How many times did that reporter keep apologising after each question! Haha:lol:

He will bring back the fear at Manchester United. A man with a fearsome reputation and he will keep the media in check. He will crush any rumour on its way out of United.

We will go back to being a tight house. This is very very important for our team and he will do really well.

I don't get why people are worrying. He clearly wants the job, we're briefing the media that he is our man, it's probably just a case of ironing out the finer details and waiting for this abortion of a season to come to an end.

Exactly. He'l be brilliant with the media, in the press conferences etc. Great personality.

"I can't talk about that"

Anyone else reading this bit as, "Deal is done, club want to finish the season first, then I'll be announced soon after", I know I was.

He is used to handle them. The German and spanish press are idiots, too.

His training sessions are fascinating. I am pretty sure if there is open training sessions you will have reports about them in the sports chapter, too. Munich has open training sessions and at the beginning of his trainings there they were really crowded. Hopefully your players are open to new stuff... The ones that are will be the ones that start.

The thing is that there is as much players that really love him as there is ones that do not...
Fergie on Rooney (from his autobiography): "In a training ground exercise he wouldn't he wouldn't absorb new ideas or methods quickly"

"His instinct was to revert to type, to trust what he already knew. He has great qualities about him but they could be swallowed up by a lack of fitness.

Here is another perspective of that infamous "stupid question" remark by Van Gaal, and no, it was not filmed by a potato.

EDIT: Look at his eyes, they stare into your soul and rip your heart out.

I have a feeling that arsenal and Liverpool fans will have someone else to hate as well as/instead of mourinho

Jesus! You're right that stare is piercing! Right ofter the Sky reporter goes: "Loiue...err.. Louis... Sorry..." - THAT's WHAT WE NEED. IRON FIST!

In the same way Schweinsteiger and Thomas Muller are the most German looking people ever, is he the most Dutch looking person ever?

Thomas Müller and Schweinsteiger are looking very Bavarian. I would say that Toni Kroos is more the German looking type...

I was looking at photos of old "Autocorsos" after Bayern Championship some minutes ago. Here is one of the Feierbiest!!!

It does come across almost as if he genuinely doesn't know whether he's been picked for the job. I find this a bit irritating to be honest, I hope United aren't thinking of trying to force Van Gaal to take Giggs as his assistant. Van Gaal should have complete control of our club and do what he believes is necessary to be successful, just like Fergie had complete power.

To be honest thinking about this Van Gaal/Giggs situation, I keep thinking it would be best if Giggs and the rest of the 92 class leave United. We need to start afresh. Give Van Gaal complete control.

Just watched the interview and I must say that I really like the way he handles the media. He lingers on every word the reporter says, just waiting to tear into him should he ask a bad question. He's a scary man and not the sort of person you would want to upset if he were your boss. There will be casualties when he arrives but he's just what we need if we want to get back to former glories.

All this romanticising about Giggs being on the coaching staff or his number 2 has to stop. The club comes first, not the individual, Giggs is a legend and always will be and if one day he makes it as a manager, he will be given the chance to manage United. I have no doubt if that day does come he will gratefully take the opportunity to do so. We should not be trying to fit Giggs into our plans just because we want him to succeed, the club comes first, always has and always will.
